Final Project Proposal

For this final project, I want to focus on something that's very close to me. For those who know me well, they probably have an idea of where I'm going with this (if it wasn't already obvious from my sketches). Disney World has always been close to my heart. I have grown up going to Disney since I was basically born and being brought up loving Disney. This final project I want to focus on my personal experiences with Disney and how it makes me feel. 

As in my sketches, I want to project onto some of my personally made mouse ears. I plan on projecting different images and videos from some of my favorite memories from being in the parks. My first trip was when I wasn't even 1 years old and have been going with my family ever since. I have even done two Disney College Programs working for this company. Morgan, Ivette, and Caroline's stress themed project really got me thinking about this. While they used dogs as the stress reliever, dogs don't relieve stress for me considering I'm allergic to them. Thinking about this, Disney and going to their parks has always been my stress reliever, you can ask almost everyone in this classroom and they can attest to this. I really want to try to portray the feelings I have when I am in Disney and how it has impacted my life. I think projecting onto my hand made ears makes this even more personal. I'm still thinking about this and how exactly I want to go about doing this, so I'm definitely open to any advice. 

Materials:
Projector
Ears (4-5)
Something to hang them with (command strips or thumbtacks?)

Timeline:
11/26 - Have pictures/videos compiled and ready to go
12/3 -  Have video file done
12/7 - Have everything tested
12/13 - Have everything set up
12/14 - Project due

Artist Statement | Project 3

Mine and Eric's project is rightfully titled "First World Problems". While our original project idea was much, much different than what the end product shows, we ran into some "first world problems" and had to readjust our plans and come up with something new.  We are wasteful humans at times and we take many things for granted here, including food. Plenty of food is something that we are privileged to have on a regular basis, yet we continue to take this for granted on many accounts. "First World Problems" is to show that being wasteful and taking things for granted, is indeed a problem we have. While being wasteful ourselves for this project, wasting cereal and milk and water... we have then brought in the extra cereal for everyone to eat and to NOT be wasteful of the leftovers.

Materials should include: Cork board with pins 3 pairs of ears 2 hats 3 t-shirts Projector (n ecessary cords for projector) Once all materials are accounted for, first thing you'll want to do is to take the cork pin board and prop it up against the wall so that the pins are facing upright. Next, you'll want to find the 3 clear push pins that are stuck into the cork board. You're going to take the ears and place them on the push pins so that they are hanging. From left to right, it will be the all white pair, the shiny silver pair, and then the white pair with the purple bow. After that, look for the white hat and hang it off the right corner of the cork board, then find the blue hat and hang it off the left corner of the cork board. Finally, there will be an assortment of t-shirts (3), fold them up by putting in the sleeves of the shirts first, then folding the shirts in half, and then half again, laying them in front of the cork board.  Since the installation is m
